Tree Board

The Vincennes Tree Board is responsible for managing the planting, care and removal of the city's street trees, located in all city rights of way. The board consists of five members serving three-year terms. The members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Tree Board is made up of people dedicated to beautifying Vincennes by overseeing the planting and maintenance of the city's trees, maintaining an inventory of city trees, addressing citizens' tree concerns, ordering removal of dangerous limbs or trees and educating the public regarding proper tree planting and care.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 201 Vigo Street.

2009 Tree Removal Project The Vincennes Tree Board is accepting bids for the removal of 15 large trees. Bidders must submit a copy of current city arborist license and tree stumps must be ground below ground level and filled with topsoil, as per city ordinances. All debris must be removed by contractor. Bids will be accepted from qualified bidders until 5:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2009. Bids may be submitted by email, mailed to City Hall at 201 Vigo Street, Vincennes, IN 47591, c/o Tree Board, or through other arrangement by contacting Tree Board president Mark Welte.
