Dangerous Railroad Crossings Should Be Reported to CSX

Because all railroad crossings in the City of Vincennes are owned by CSX Railroad, the City is not allowed to perform any kind of repairs or maintenance on them. Anyone encountering railroad track crossings which are in need of repair are encouraged to report it immediately to CSX. The primary number to call is 1-800-848-4542. After dialing this number, please press 7...then please press 4 to speak to a CSX Operator. At each crossing throughout the City, a white metal plate with black numbers and letters is attached to one of the flashing light poles which contains information necessary for CSX to identify individual crossings. Please have this information ready to give when calling CSX. Mayor Baldwin reminds everyone to use caution at all railroad crossings in the City and to report any problems immediately.
